Introduction

Edgewater is an unincorporated hamlet located in the Columbia Valley one hour south of Golden, British Columbia. Originally known and founded as a farming community, it has diversified into forestry and tourism.

Tourist attractions such as the farmer’s market and the Steamboat Mountain Music Festival every July draw visitors from all over the Columbia Valley. A fully operational flume is still used for irrigation and the annual local fire department’s Duck Race.

Nearby Kootenay National Park offers fabulous camping, backpacking and great hiking trails, including the Floe Lake/Hawke Creek Trail and the Stanley Glacier Trail.

Edgewater real estate

The hamlet features character homes, luxury properties, and cottages. Land ownership varies by development. Both freehold and leased land (mostly recreational) are available depending on use and budget.

Homes in this area might be situated directly on the river or at an elevation that provides views of the entire lake and spectacular sunsets. If you prefer water, forest, views, or something closer to town, Edgewater has something for you.
